No Codes
The instrumental jazz collective No Codes, consisting of Benjamin Deschamps, Sébastien Pellerin, Louis-Vincent Hamel, and jazz veteran Frank Lozano, presents their second album, Usual Suspects, scheduled for release in November 2024. Following their first album internationally acclaimed, the group continues to push the boundaries of contemporary jazz. The group’s main artistic philosophy is to explore and challenge the expected norms and conventions in jazz. Since 2018, the group has evolved toward a more collective approach, blurring the lines between composition and improvisation.
No Codes promises an innovative musical journey, blending modern jazz, tradition, free jazz, contemporary music, and exploring unexpected influences such as world music and punk. Usual Suspects is set to be a bold and captivating experience, skillfully combining creativity and experimentation. The album heralds an exciting new chapter for No Codes, solidifying their presence in the jazz contemporary musical landscape. The musical experience of this album includes moments of explosive energy as well as contemplative and meditative moments, always supported by the camaraderie among the group members, which has significantly developed over the past few years.
